There are several components to a comperehensive estate plan. These include a durable power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney and living will, and either a will or trust, depending on your specific needs. Additional ancillary documents, including a review of your assets and beneficiary designations, complete the package. The foundation of your estate plan is set with these documents.

Durable Power of Attorney
A durable power of attorney is a document that allows you to appoint an Agent to manage your finances during your life and if for some reason you are not able to handle your affairs while you are living.

Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Will
A healthcare power of attorney and living will names an individual to make healthcare decisions for you in the event you are unable to do so yourself. In this document, you also outline end-of-life care instructions that may be important to you or your family.

Wills and Trusts
After our initial client meeting, we will assess together whether a will or a trust is the most appropriate tool for your family’s needs. Considerations may include privacy concerns, tax planning, and the complexity of your assets.
Estate Planning Review
Contrary to popular belief, estate planning is not a one-time event. The plan created for you may require revisions as time goes on.
As your attorney, the goal is to build a long-term relationship and be consistently be available to you to assess whether your plan reflects your current wishes and recommend revisions as needed.
